excuse me but have you seen four swords?

September 5th, 2008 · No Comments

I was exploring some memories, you know, the ones in the corners of mind and I was thinking about The Legend of Zelda: 4 Swords.  Man that was such a great game.  Granted you need to find 4 friends (or at least 3) and 4 GBA SP’s but after that pure bliss.

Where’s my new four swords adventure?  The DS has wifi built in and supposedly some sort of doodad whatcamacalit connection to the wii so… That sounds like multiplayer across the globe setting lenny on fire to me fun!  Until I can get my zelda on I wil make do with Castle Crashers, a XBL game that hit last week.  It’s got 4 cute little guys, in different colors with swords.  It’s missing fire but it does have crossbows, blood and gems so yeah I guess it will suffice for now. (if I can get crit, rock and slumlord to play with me) Oh well, I will have my memories.

vegas baby, vegas

July 9th, 2008 · 1 Comment

Vegas was indeed, awesome in every sense of the word.  Even though we still didn’t get to do everything (no time for Grand Canyon skywalk) it was great spending time with the slumlord, bb, rock and izzie.
On my bday, we started our Casino tour; I did not win in roulette anywhere sadly but whatever.  When we were in the Ventian we went to this hat shop and got some great new headgear.  Rock got what I call his ‘Cocoa Cabana Players Hat w/ vents’ and I picked up this sweet military style cap.  Afterwards, sporting our new looks we went the Stratsosphere to watch Rock ride some coasters.  The ‘thrill ride’ of going in the elevator to the top costs us 16 bucks a piece and once we saw the other ‘thrill rides’ and prices, sticker shock took hold and all we did was take pictures of the desert view.  On our way out of the hotel we passed this bar with this guy selling 1 dollar jello shots.  Who can say no to 1 dollar jello shots?  Ok, maybe someone can but I am not that person.  We had 3 jello shots each and me and rock had cherries soaked in moonshine and then bb and izzie had the pineapple version.  My re-telling here will do no justice to the horror that took place in my mouth.  I have a little series of pictures with the bb and izzie that you can bear witness too - it still pales though.  Just as a warning, when a man crosses himself before handing you something, you really should question whether or not consumation of said item should take place.
From the stratosphere we hopped a cab to the Rio; the girls were in the back and the boys were up front much to our cabbies dismay.  I’m not sure what was going on up there but I caught bits of the convo about members and erections.  The cabbie was NOT please to be this close to the bb nor the conversation taking place and was so happy to be rid of us.  Inside the Rio at the bar they had the Microsoft Surface tables - my nerdy side went into OD and I iimmediately was drawn there.  We sat there for awhile playing with the coolness and chatting with our other bar patrons via some sort of magnetic poetry playing field.  Like any Microsoft product, it did crash and reboot on us once but it was still awesome.  That night we went to old vegas and my old slot magic was in effect. The slumlord gave me a quarter and I put it in a machine and ding you win 40 quarters! I proceed to go up and down the row putting in quarters and the slumlord collected the winnings.  Here is also where we got some hurricanes served in to-scale football containers.  Oh how they burned so good.

On the next day me and rock went indoor skydiving while izzie and the bb took pictures and recorded our efforts.  Indoor skydiving was pretty bad ass but also insanely hot.  What they don’t tell you about this giant fan that allows you to hover above the ground is that its really a jet engine!  So you are in a flight suit, gloves, helmet and googles and its also 104 degrees in Vegas then they stick you in this room where you lie above this engine and it blows you up in the air - hot hot hot.  It’s easily 130+ in there according to our instructor.  It’s a full 3 minutes of flight which sounds short but any longer and I would have passed out.  Afterwards our little vegas gang went to this sheesha bar.  It was my first time smoking but I enjoyed the experience.  I had imagined it would burn and cause me great lung pain but it was not like that at all and dare I say, I might be addicted.  As it stands, I have too many addictions already and there are no sheesha bars in Omaha so I think I’m safe.

Overall a good time, granted I didn’t get to see nekkid ladies dancin (or vampire nekkid ladies biting each other.  A story for another time) but it was a great bday - here’s hopin’ 30 will be just as good.

i can’t take a hint

July 5th, 2008 · No Comments

I’m back from Vegas and the 29 bday blowout.  Sadly, I am not a winner.  My mojo was not working - at least on my actual birthdate it wasn’t.  The days after I was back on track and walked away up.  I’ll have a full write up (with pictures!) later.  Anywho, I wanted to share with y’all a little something my neighbor left me:

can you see the secret message?  I think it was his way of asking me to mow my lawn.  I’m not really sure - I’m bad with subtly.
